1
Project Initiation
This is usually the post-sale phase, when the client and consultant gain a general agreement on the problem that needs to be solved and a general approach to solving that problem. It may be considered a pre-project phase.
2
Project Brief
The next phase of the project covers development and agreement on the statement of work. In the beginning of this phase, the project manager is identified and he or she is responsible for developing and gaining agreement on the statement of work.
3
Project Planning
After the statement of work is signed by the parties, the project team is deployed and the project planning phase begins. By this phase, the high-level work breakdown structure, list of deliverables, and dates are already defined, so the project team needs to detail it further out to create a resource-loaded project schedule at the activity level.
4
Project Execution
Our business consultants solve complex business problems when there is no obvious solution; this causes additional variability in the project scope, because even the fundamental approach may have to be modified in the course of running the project.
5
Project Monitoring and Controlling
Apart from the traditional approach of providing updates on the status of activities in electronic format, the recurring daily communication with the project team has proved to be very helpful.
6
Project Closure
Project closure is usually more involved than with internal projects, because apart from agreed upon deliverables, there also needs to be transfer of required knowledge, and project documentation and intellectual property issues need to be paid attention to. These include some of the project documents are consultant internal documents.
